Thanks to a series of postponements, our licensing hearings are frozen in red tape for the time being. No word on exactly when things will resume from the board, but I'm sure it's not going to be sweet. At least that's what Indigo Jourdan tells me. Good lord, the woman's like a damned supermodel without the coke habit. Tall and gorgeous enough to flip just about any woman's L-Switch. Thank heaven she hasn't got the sweetest disposition in the world--must be why we get along so well. So anyway, the word from Miss Jourdan is that our license is in serious jeopardy. Like I didn't already know THAT. I was sure we were in SOME trouble but the word is that Sullivan is looking to make an example of lil ol' us. Seriously, when did a couple of not-exactly-high end Freelancers become so popular? I mean, I know of a handful of folks who'd love to hop right into our grave, that super-charged lil so and so, JJ Watts for starters, but it's the FRB I just can't get over. Something's driving this witch-hunt. Portia and I smell it, Jourdan smells it. I just can't find the source of the stink and time is running short. License goes under and it's gone for a minimum of six months. That's about long enough to be all but forgotten in this industry. Lord knows rebuilding clientele from scrap is a 100% bitch.
